St Wilfrid's Vintage in Chichester

Yesterday the sun was out, I had enough energy to do something, my back and neck seemed stable... right what shall I do today...

I checked my emails...

Aha...

A little Friday outing I thought, thanks to a message from a fellow blogger... thank you OhSoVintage

A local Hospice, that has several charity shops around the area was holding a vintage do in Chichester, good timing to tempt those attending the Goodwood Revival and raise funds.

Whilst I did know it was happening this info had not got into my diary so there would have been no chance of me remembering without someone telling me again... but it was obviously meant to be...

I met some lovely ladies dressed up in vintage, wandered around listening and singing to fab music.

Were you there too?

The first thing I spied was a hat box, now I have wanted a replacement for those that I have lost for ages...

It does need a little tlc, a bit of sewing but it has a fastening handle!

and it is beautifully rich and clean inside...

I then started to fill it up...

I just love funky old linen tea towels...

This is breath takingly fine...

This colourful handmade skirt, I just love the material and with a little tweak will fit me beautifully...

Then finally my new winter coat, in dark olive basket wool weave in perfect condition, not a mark on the lining! even has a spare button!
The sleeves are a little short but it fits like a dream... a long pair of fingerless mitts and a snood to knit me thinks and that's winter sorted...

I have the wool (from last years promises to knit)  I found the metal needles too painful to use but a couple of people have suggested trying bamboo so that is my next plan.

I'm having a quiet weekend to recoup my energy... just a little painting project to finish...

Enjoy what ever you are up to this September weekend!
