Vintage Bernina... let the sewing begin

I have been stuck in a major Sewing Machine drama for about six months.

The Frister+Rossmann cub4 saga is still on going... just where did that lead and foot peddle end up ... nobody knows..

So I have been looking out for another lovely vintage sewing machine that works, has a drop feed and has all its bits and here we are, a Bernina 530-2 she does need a little bit of tlc but I am already smitten....

Made in Switzerland in the early 1960's she is fabulous... solid vintage design and engineering...

So much easier for hemming....

She came with a hard case, detachable drawers, this extra sewing platform, this huge foot peddle and 10 different feet but sadly no manual.

Thanks to the internet you can download the manual

I found a great site Rudolfcoulture.com where you can do so for free... 117 pages!

Saved from going to landfill...

  3. It does look splendid but have been quoted between £200 and £300 to replace parts if indeed the parts can be found and make it safe... I'm currently trying to buy another that is broken but has parts I need... but they go for too much on ebay...
So the lack of sewing machine drama continues...

    Would love to see article.
