Part one is here
And so through the next gate and into the cutting and herb area...
Anyone know what these are above, I'd rather like some of these...
Training fruit trees up walls in S's...
Turning to the right.. you can see all the lovely wooden green houses and cold frames...
My father was happy to get out of the wind and even took his jacket off...
On the left, various beautiful trained Peaches...
Further on rows of Basil and Heritage Tomatoes...
Loving the old latches, plaques and handles....
And Outside again...
The Hot House was... well... hot...
But that will have to wait till next time...
Thanks for popping by...

Beautiful. I played as a child in a smaller greenhouse like these as a child. The smell of tomatoes and the damp warmth I still find intoxicating. The latches are a great spot. My garden has finally taken off strawberries beginning to appear ripe. How is that van?
ReplyDeleteFabulous post Cass! I can help with the plant it's Phlomis Russeliana we had them in our last garden and they do have fabulous seed heads in the autumn and pretty buttercup yellow flowers in late spring and summer. Warmest wishes - Glenda
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!! I LOVE West Dean. I went there for a jewellery course a couple of years ago and felt like I had landed in 'heaven on earth'. It is just the most wonderful place and your photographs remind of the really happy 5 days I spent there.
ReplyDeleteSo lucky you are to have been there!
ReplyDeleteSo many exciting herbs and flowers.
Wish you a nice weekend :)
