The bees on those artichokes are wonderful. I knew you lived near Chichester, I wish I could have dropped some plants of for you. I haven't forgotten about sending you some. I might have to give you some root cuttings and if they fail can always try some plants next spring. Sarah x
They were literally rolling around on our globe artichoke as well. I've noticed they have moved onto the pumpkin flowers now and are doing exactly the same thing - covered in yellow dust but with the opposite effect to fairy dust as they have to shake some free before getting airborne again.
My goodness, those dear little bees ARE having a great time :o) Emsworth is a beautiful place (we have a dear friend that lives there) - I'm quite envious of you. Best wishes Rose H

Glad I came back to see you!
Well, duh. The artichoke DOES look like a dahlia!!
ReplyDeleteI love these photographs! Have always adored Bees and it is lovely to see so many on this beautiful flower of the artichoke. Minerva x
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, didn't realise it was an artichoke, I thought it was one of those ornamental thistles.
