Spring preparation... and life...

Well spring is definitely in the air...

Primroses and mini daffs are out already... the larger daffodils are not far off once again showing their faces...

I saw the return of the Blue Tit pair... checking out their nest box yesterday...

Mrs Blackbird is busy nest building... gathering moss, grass and last years stems...

I watched the Mrs, just now, pulling up dead grass and putting some into one of my birdbaths... I can only assume to soften them so they'll bend easier... clever girl...

Although not tame, the Mrs was born in my garden so will just get on with things if I am outside... or as things are at the moment standing at an open window...

For the past week I have been totally bed/house bound again due to my back.... it is a tricky and a very long winded process to reshape... stabilise... then strengthen and maintain my spine... Two years to date!! and we are still reshaping...

We did another major adjustment over a week ago and although I'm having daily treatments here the body is still at the nerve trapping and spasming stage which is very painful, extremely limiting and rather DULL.

Not really able to do much even sitting, standing or lying down is limited so my days and nights have just been a constant flow of changing... wander a little... sit in one chair where I've been knitting a row or two... wander sit in another chair to write this... wander a little and then to bed... it can take up to 20 minutes just to get to that lie down position... two possible positions in bed I lie surrounded by pillows and cushions listening to a spoken book... and then repeat the whole process...

Thank goodness for the person who first thought of the spoken word via the library service... In fact the whole Library service is fantastic and I can't bare to think quite how poor my quality of life would have been over the last 10 years without my local library!

But I have regained nearly one and a half inches of my original height in the last two years and have been saved from being in a wheelchair with a neck brace!! so although this is very challenging I still feel truly blessed... just rather shattered currently!

I hope wandering outside will be added to the flow soon...

  2. Sorry to hear of your fragile frame, but hope you can still work a needle or hook? Take it easy and award yourself a large chocolate medal for being so brave. EE xx

  3. Well the Mrs certainly looks like she is nest building. I had to totally transform my kitchen window baskets due to nest building last year (the birds took it all!!!). We have a dove that was born in our garden and my son can hand feed it each day. So tame and so sweet. Sorry to hear that you have been so poorly. I wish you well. Take care. Chel

I hope you are having a pain free day...My man had a spinal operation a couple of years back...so I do understand how lack of flexibility can be draining, exhausting...I am sending you get better soon wishes....
