I found this rather jolly woolly tank top for a £1 sometime ago and thought Mmm... felted... that would make a rather nice hot water bottle cover..
I initially was just going to cut out one but then thought, let's see just how much one can make if I think before I cut!
Cut keeping one seam intact... following the shoulder line of the bottle... then sew up...
A bit of blanket stitch around the top...
Sew on 2 buttons... these are coconut ones I brought back from India...
Create four holes and overstitch..
TaDa
So that's two new hot water bottle covers..
Now to decide what to make from the bit left over...
A Mug Cosy and a Wristband
or a Small Teapot Cosy and a Wristband..
I'm good at finding things, well I was good, I've loads of stuff hoarded... with the view to quirk things up... some for me and some to sell maybe...
So I've been doing a bit of altering...
Some old cotton Trousers that I like but are too short for me..
I have some lovely cotton lace from the 60's which I think mightl work?
Then a tunic that again I like but the neck line is really too low and I'm not keen on the tie back thing either.

So I'm hand sewing the tie fabric around the inside of the neckline....
then creating little flowers from the remainder...
Still work in progress but I think I'll wear it much more now...
This sewing spurt prompted me to get my eyes tested today... yep need some new glasses!!
Well it is a bit cooler and I have taken to wearing my long fleecy dressing gown as a house coat to keep the heating costs down but me still warm... my poor back can't cope with the cold... not at all...
I have got a few strange looks from neighbours and delivery men but I don't care...
Hope you are keeping warm too...
